After a GAME memo listed Star Wars: The Old Republic as an Xbox 360 title, BioWare stepped up to say, “No, we are just doing this for the PC.”
Which sees EA’s biggest production of all time limited to one platform and requiring to grab at least 20% of the existing NA / EU MMO player market just to break even. Sure, SWOR could grow the market, but I don’t think they are going to be bringing hundreds of thousands of new players who have never played a MMO before yet have MMO-capable PCs, so that isn’t something I’d depend on.
Curious. It is probably easier focus on only one platform (less design and compatibility risks), but it also means they’ve shrunk the potential player base by excluding the Xbox 360 and PS3.
